Re: Apple 2 newbie needs help.

Well, I don't think the last reply really told you anything so I'm
going to put my $0.02 in here.

IBM DOS Apple DOS
DIR CATALOG
<filename> RUN <filename>
DEL DELETE <filename>
ERA DELETE <Filename>
MKDIR N/A
RMDIR N/A
COPY N/A (usually done by loading and then saving programs)

A good way to approach the Apple is to remember that you are always
running BASIC. GWBASIC (pre-System 5) is fairly close to how the
Apple does it's programs.

I would suggest you do the following:

1. Find and buy an Apple DOS 3.3 manual.
2. Find and use Apple's ProDos. It is free and much better than
DOS 3.3 (though some might debate that statement).
3. Pick up (as cheaply as you can) manuals on how to use the Apple
computer. Look for old Nibble magazines, Call A.P.P.L.E.
magazines, and others of that sort.
