It sounds like your problems is related to the EasyAccess suite of 
utilities - some (mostly older like WordPerfect) programs do not work 
with EasyAccess.  To resolve this problem, go into the System.Setup 
folder which is inside the System folder, select the EasyAccess extension 
and click on "inactive" (these are instructions for going through the 
Finder of course), and reboot.  Your problems should go away.

You might want to try to get your hands on v2.1f, which was the last 
version made, and which seems to be a bit friendlier to Systems v5.0.4 
and up (it will launch faster too).
