Apple Co: Can you release HCGS?

--- An open request to Apple Computer Co. Feel free to voice your
support as well, but not to quote this entire message just to say
"me too"

A while ago, I heard that such neat things like HyperCard IIGS were
available for the downloading from GEnie. I also heard that sooner or
later, it would make its way to the ftp site, ftp.apple.com. It's been
quite some time since then, and although I've got the HCGS disks by
now, I feel that there are some others who may want it.

With the numbers of people who once worked with the Apple II slowly
dwindling away, I think that we need to ask for things before it is
too late. It would not take too long to pack up the HCGS disks and
post them to the site; the system software is already available there,
why not the HCGS disks?

In the past, Apple, you gave us many dreams of what the computers
could do, and an implicit promise to support them. For us, a lot of
those dreams have been started halfway, then killed, to our dismay;
the ROM 04, the Apple II Ethernet card, and many others that I don't
feel like listing here. You have killed off the Apple II. You are no
longer making any machines in the Apple II line. Why should you try
and spite us for as long as possible? We're Apple II holdouts because
we believe in the promise and power of the machine; we have gradly
accepted the produced fruits of many well-meaning and dedicated
engineers at Apple, and been disappointed when other fruits have not
been released to us.

Please, Apple, if you are showing favoritism to one group of online
users, either be nice to others, or explain your actions. Arbitrary
actions are not very friendly.

   Thank you for your attention.
