Yes, I know, I have that issue (in fact, I have all of the issues). However,
my problem is that the *original* doesn't work on my IIgs, and I don't have
a //e or ][+ lying around to try it out on.

What I finally ended up doing was using the computist deprotect (which just
copies the disk so that it has a normal format, then changes the address
and data epilog bytes in RWTS to match), then hacking DOS so that the
routine at $A851 (which resets the character I/O vectors, and is the last
thing executed by the BRUN code before the called program gets control)
always exits with the carry set.

I did this by changing the RTS to SEC and RTS. This overwrote the first
byte in the command table, but since the first command is "INIT" (which
doesn't get used inside Apventure to Atlantis) it's not a problem. Good
thing the commands are stored with the high bit clear for all but the
last character...

Strangely, the disk seems to work mostly correct if run at 1 MHz. If I
run it with my Zip on, it gets seriously confused... right after taking
off from Lapour I end up over Atlantis, with spells that I shouldn't have
and all sorts of bizarre stuff. It also set my reaction time to non-zero,
which at 8MHz means you're pretty much toast before you even get started.
