Hi all!
Got myself a real nice problem this time... I was cleaning my
monitor last night and apparently picked up a wonderful static charge.
Touched the keyboard on my enhanced IIe and <<<ZAP>>>.
Needless to say only half the keys work now when you press them. I
am not sure if I blew the Keyboard ROM or if I zapped the Keyboard
encoder chip. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I
could find these parts or if I am barking up the wrong tree??? I really
can't afford a motherboard replacement, so I would like to replace the
toasted chips myself. Please post any suggestions as to were I can
get these items. I suspect that the problem lies in the keyboard
encoder... Somewhere, once I read that it is the only component in
the IIe that is highly succeptable to static discharges.
Thanx,
Teke
