The answer to your question lies in who (if anyone) every comes out
with FAX for the Apple ][ line.

If it is someone wanting to make money then it will work for "all"
Apples where "all" is some minumum hardware/version.

If it is someone wanting to do it for "fun" then it will probably come
out for the IIgs since that seems to be where the action is these days.
