waveLAB 1.0 Beta defect

While playing around with waveLAB version 1.0 Beta, I noticed a
defect: when it loads a wave that is 8K in length, it allocates 16K in
DOC RAM. The problem was easy to fix, and will not be in the final 1.0
release.

Another problem that others have reported: when run under System
Software 6.0, users get a message that Tool003 is required but not in
the */System/Tools/ folder. waveLAB 1.0 requires System Software
6.0.1, including the latest version of Miscellaneous Tools (toolset
number 3). The Miscellaneous Tools are patched in the TS1 and TS3 init
files rather than being loaded from */System/Tools/Tool003; the system
doesn't seem to know that, and produces the confusing message. The
final 1.0 release will request the 6.0 version numbers at startup,
then explicitly check to make sure the version of tool 3 is >= the
version number shipped with 6.0.1.

There's still plenty of time to send me your comments on waveLAB beta
version 1.0. Help me stomp all the bugs before the final one is
complete!
