Keyboard lockups!?!?!?

My keyboard is continually locking up on me (nothing I type is recognized).  I
can temporaryily fix this by unplugging the ADB cable from the keyboard and
plugging it back in, but I know that's not good for my computer.  I've tried
shift-booting, but it still happens.  Does anyone have any idea what might
be causing this?  I've even tried more than one ADB cable, but there's no
difference, it happens at least every times I'm on my computer.  Someone
help me please!
