I guess portable is a relative term.I started with a 2e to GS conversion
which
is portable compared to the standard GS where you need to drag a monitor, KB,
HD drive modem etc. With the 2e case I was able to put the modem, HD KB etc
in the case so I have only a monitor to add. I kept looking at this boat
anchor
IBM antique "portable" with built in monitor KB etc sitting in my office and
decided it might have enough room to put the GS mother board and use the 5"
moniter and replace the folding KB along with rom inside to add a floppy
drive
etc and viola a "portable " GS? As I said it is easier than carriying all
those
other pieces when you want to take your GS to a user group meeting or to a
summer hideaway to do some work.
I should add that I have mounted a 40 meg HD from a powerbook in the unit
connected thru a RamFast to make everything pretty much self contained. With
a couple of car batteries for power I can run it anywhere for several hours.
