Amiga Monitors
This is a follow-up to my posting about Commodore's Auction, and a request
for a list of differences between 1084s P and 1084s D2 monitors.
We didnt get any response before we went to the auction so I took my pinout
list and my hardware tech ref with me.
At the auction we got some other third party advice. They said that the
P models were made by Philips and the D models were made by xxxxx (i forget).
Anyway, the outcome is that yes they have the same pinouts and can both be used.
Unfortunately, the going price was a AU$225 bid (which then needed %21 sales
tax added and then %5 again buyers premium) for single units.
That was too high for us (but probably still a v.good price when compared
with what they sell for on the street).
I'll keep my eyes peeled in the local second hand rag for the hundreds of them
that were sold and try and track one down later.
It's funny what people will do at Auctions.... with 46 monitors to be sold
individually and about 200 to be sold in bulk lots, people could have
abstained from bidding a bit more, and then everyone could have bought one
at a nice price.... but no, go like hell, must have the highest bid.....
