HELP! 3.5 internal to external HOW?

Hello,

I got an Apple 3.5 drive casing a while back so I could set up the 800k 
internal floppy that my school was gonna throw away (from upgrading their
Macintosh IIx to a SuperDrive) as an external drive.  It won't work.  I opened 
up my current 3.5 drive and see that there's a board inside that the internal 
drive doesn't have, namely the board that has the daisy chain socket on it.  
Can someone point me to somewhere that I could find this little board so I could
use this internal drive as a external floppy?  Everything's 100% genuine Apple,
BTW.
