sciibin/usq and .bsq files: Q-Qestions

I seem to have some trouble with the sciibin
packages in unpacking comressed files of the 
form

I of course cut out the header, and then try
to run some of the de-archiving programs
on the file like sciibin, etc,.... 


they give me errors like:

'usq startrek.fc.bsq'
====> then

usq: startrek.fc.bsq not a squeezed file
Wrong magic number: 7374


or

'sciibin  startrek.fc.bsq'
=====> then

sciibin (startrek.fc.bsq, 3): error: CRC error in file header
sciibin (startrek.fc.bsq, 263): error: CRC error in file header
sciibin (startrek.fc.bsq, 523): error: CRC error in file header

Anyway, what am I doing wrong here, and what program will
turn these files back into .shk/.bxy files, which is I assume
what they are.
