The disk drive in question is an AMR (American Micro R?). I have one of
them connectected to my IIGS. This drive is GS and GS/OS compatable
(except for one small "bug"). Try cleaning the drive with the standard
head cleaning diskette.
The AMR drive has one nasty problem: When some programs, such as Orca's
prizm, Shrinkit, etc. check the drives online, they will hang until a
disk is placed in the AMR (Americam Micro Research) drive. No problem,
just keep a disk in it at all times.
