That is the Apple Video Expansion Bus connector. According to the VOC toolkit
manuals its primary intended use is as a direct interface to the VOC's mixing
stages, for frame grabbers and alternate overlay algorithms and so on.

In essence it is like a "processor direct slot" but for the analog video
signals, in that it gives third party expansion some powerful hooks into
the card. Unfortunately, the somewhat less-than-stellar market penetration
of the VOC has prevented any such third party products from being developed
because simply not enough people would buy them to make it profitable.
