This all depends on which way the SSC with which the cable
was used with an IWII was set up. If the terminal block on the SSC
was pointing to TERMINAL, then the cable will probably still work
fine in either direction between a computer and a printer (both DTE)
If the termial block was pointing to MODEM, then a modem cable was
being used to drive the printer, because the termial block makes
the computer look like DCE. In either case, the cable will eventually
work. If it doesn't work at first, just insert a Null Modem adapter
(available at any radio shack, etc.) in the line, and all should be fine.

PS: for the uninitiated, there are two kinds of serial equipment:

DTE=Data Terminal Equipment (most computers, terminals and printers)
DCE=Data Communications Equipment (usually just modems)

To connect like to like, you use a printer cable.
to connect unlike, you use a modem cable.

The major difference is that the Send Data, and Receive Data
signal lines are crossed in the middle of a printer cable,
(along with some handshaking signal lines, usually)

I'm sure someone will come along and correct any errors
I may have made... It is getting late :) Good Luck!
