Shareware Solutions II is a bi-monthly 20 page publication. It is written
entirely by me (Joe Kohn), and is written and laid out and printed entirely
with an Apple II. It is not just about Apple II/IIGS shareware. Instead, it
combines several of the on-going columns that I used to write for inCider/A+
(Shareware Solutions and Grapevine). In 3 out of the 4 issues, I have
included long feature length articles (All About KansasFest, All About the
Internet, All About Apple Expo West). Additionally, I have passed along many
money saving hints and tips, and have secured many money saving deals from
software publishers and hardware manufacturers, so that subscribers have
been able to directly purchase internal or external hard drives at a
discount, buy ProSel at 30-40% off, etc.
Of course, each issue does focus on Apple IIe/IIc and IIGS freeware and
shareware software, and all of the software that has been featured in SSII
is also available from SSII via the mail. The charges for disks of freeware
and/or shareware ranges between $3 and $5 per disk, and there are no extra
shipping charges over and above that $3-$5 fee. All disks are mailed by air
mail, even to foreign destinations.
In fact, even the newsletter itself goes out by first class air mail.
At the current time, a 2 year, 12 issue subscription is $25 for US, Canada
and Mexico, or $40 anywhere else in the galaxy. Shareware Solutions II is
offered with a money back guarantee; if you're not happy for any reason, you
can get a refund for all remaining unmailed issues.
Please note that the current $25/$40 subscription price is subject to
change, and most probably will change by the time SSII celebrates its first
birthday on May 1, 1994.
At the current time, SSII is not set up to accept credit cards (sorry).
Checks or Money Orders, in US Funds ONLY (what that means for people
overseas is that your bank has some type of arrangement to "draw funds on a
US Bank" - ask about it at your bank.) Also accepted are Grateful Dead
tickets for upcoming California shows.
Because there have been so many money saving deals offered in the first 4
issues, I have been starting out all new subscribers by sending them a
package with those first 4 issues in it. But, even after getting 4 issues at
once, you'll still have nearly 1.5 years left on your subscription.

Shareware Solutions II currently has subscribers in 49 states (c'mon Nevada)
and 17 foreign countries. It has been endorsed by the AppleWorks Forum, GS+
Magazine, Softdisk G-S, Texas II, Helium Balloons and II Alive.
If there are any other questions, feel free to post them on comp.sys.apple2.
I'll see them and respond. Of course, subscribers are free to respond as
well. In fact, subscribers are encouraged to tell 'the net' just what you
think of my efforts!
