Ah, the Apple DMP... Quoting from the manual...

There are two DIP switch assemblies: SW1 is toward the back of the machine
and SW2 is toward the front. Each assembly contains 8 switches, numbred
1 through 8.. Switch 1 is on the right end.

1-3 1-2 and 1-1 control foreign characters printing. To use the
American character set, set all three switches to closed.

1-4 open = 66 lines/page (letter size @ 6 lpi)
1-4 closed = 72 lines/page (legal size)

1-5 open = printer recognizes select/deselect codes (^Q and ^S)
1-5 closed = printer doesn't recognize s/ds codes

1-6 open = don't generate LF when buffer overflows
1-6 closed = generate LF when buffer overflows

1-7 open = only CR is end-of-line character
1-7 closed = CR, LF, VT, FF, US are end-of-line characters

1-8 open = don't add LF after CR
1-8 closed = add LF after CR

2-1 open = unslashed 0
2-1 closed = slashed 0

2-2 open = buffer size 3k
2-2 closed = buffer size 1 line

2-3 and 2-4 unused

2-5 open = use pica pitch (10 chars/inch)
2-5 closed = use elite pitch (12 chars/inch)

2-6 open = don't mask off most significant bit of each byte
2-6 closed = mask off MSB

2-7 open = printer off-line (deselected) when turned on
2-7 closed = printer on-line (selected) when turned on

2-8 open = bidirectional printing
2-8 closed = left-to-right printing only (slower, better quality)

Hope this helps.
