Help moving files from Apple IIe to PC
My Father has an aged Apple IIe (twin 5.25" floppys), on which he has used
Visicalc and WordStar for a number of years. I have now given him my PC (a
386 machine with both 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives) and he wants to move
the data, he is not so concerned with the Visicalc stuff, but does want (at
least the text) from the WordStar files.
My options are (as I see it):
1. Send the disks to an agency and get them to copy them - expensive
2. Move the stuff via cables - Does the Apple IIe have a serial port that I
could program to talk to the PC? - I am fine on the PC end using basic or
whatever to get the files, but have no ideas at the Apple end.
3. Move the stuff via a MAC, we have some in the office here and I have
Laplink MAC to get the stuff from the Mac to a PC.
4. (The best option). Use a peice of code running on the PC to actually
read Apple IIe disks. This stuff exists for MAC disks, does anybody know of
same for Appple IIe disks?
Any help appreciated. PLEASE E-MAIL ME AS BELOW:
