The DeskJet models 500C and 550C have serial ports, however. I expect the next
DeskJet C model to have one as well. All "...Jet" models support
PCL (printer command language), so AppleWorks and PublishIt! should work
with these printers. The "...Writer" models *don't* have PCL, so stay away from
these.
I have a 500C connected to the serial printer port on my IIGS. It works nicely
with PublishIt! and AppleWorks.
