1. Do you have a joystick connected? If so, try unplugging it. If that
works, then the joystick either has a rapid fire feature on or is
defective. Because of the way that the Apple and Option keys are linked to
the joystick inputs, the rapid-fire can also trigger the keyboard's Option
key.
2. If the above didn't work, or if you have no joystick, try using your
keyboard on another IIgs. If that causes the same problem on the other
computer, then the keyboard is broken.
3. If using your keyboard on another computer didn't reproduce the problem
then your IIgs is broken.
