Apple ][+ or ][e ?

My first attempt at posting anywhere --  Hope it was done correctly.

Bought a used Apple][(something).  Strange beast packaged in a PC/XT case with a PC style keyboard (F-keys across the
top).  It seems to have more capability than my Apple][+ (handles mixed-case more naturally,  Able to run Write-away
word processor which came with it (which doesn't appear to run in my ][+), etc...).  Is there some ID location in the
ROM which I could check to identify what sort of machine it has greatest affinity to?
