I gotta disagree with this.  First, you'll be LUCKY to find any Apple II books
at the local bookstore unless it is a used book store.  Second, the books
I've seen for Appleworks were at best a poor substitution for the manuals since
they tended to expound on the parts of Appleworks which are inherently 
obvious and ignore altogether the more esoteric (and often more needed) details
for things like the spreadsheet functions.  Lastly, I think the folks who wrote
the manuals might object to being excluded from the "professional" category.
Not every book qualifies as being "professionally written" just by virtue of
being published.  To a large extent, writing computer software books qualifies
as a cottage industry where any person, regardless of their "professional"
knowledge can author a book and sell it if they can find a willing publisher.
