Memory location of character set

Could someone please tell me where I PEEK to on the Apple ][ to find the 
data (i.e., the bitmaps) for the character set?

I'd really like to have this info so I can make a font file that will make 
the PC Apple ][ emulators more realistic-looking. (Already done this for a 
PD TI/99 emulator and it makes a world of difference!)
