Makes me want to CRY

I just thought I'd share with you a fortune of my friends, a lost
opportunity of mine...

This kid I barely know calls me up and says he's looking at an
old Apple at a pawn shop and wants to test it, but the place
has no disks with it. I invite him over to get a copy of some
PD stuff to test it with. He picks up the copies and I don't
hear from him that day. Next day he calls and says a couple disks
"don't work". I figure he has a II+ and those large Disk II drives,
and the drive is bad. he says he paid $150 for it. maybe a little
high I think.

I tell him to go visit a friend of mine, who is borrowing my II+,
tell him to try swapping drives/cards, he'll know what to do.
He sure did.

The next day my friend calls up to gloat. He is now the proud
(well, maybe ASHAMED but HAPPY) owner of an Apple //c with
**COLOR** 14' monitor. (and ME with only a monichrome :( )
He tells me this kid saw his crummydore and offered a TRADE.
He traded that //c, in *perfect working order* (he did not
know how to run the software I gave him) with that lovely
monitor **PLUS** $30 for the crummydore with monitor.

and *I* sent him over there.

**Waaaaaaaaaaaahahahaaaaaaa***
