Ahhh! Replace it, he says. Any hint as to what type it is...
coil, spiral wound, other? No sense in disassembling if I don't have
access to a replacement part, and being here in the (Apple) boonies, it's
not likely I'll be able to find one easily.
I do have my old spring design caatalog from my days as a practicing
engineer. Maybe I cna get the Agway shop to bend something up for me8-).
