Yes, PublishIt!4 does allow you to print a postscript file to disk. See
steps below:

1.	Make sure that you have chosen LaserWriter or LaserWriter Plus font
widths under your "Apple" menu before you begin laying out your
document. Also, you will get better output if you use only those
fonts that are substituted by LaserWriter resident fonts. The PI4
manual has a list of which these are.

2.	Layout your document and print draft copies on your ImageWriter (or
other printer). The font widths will look screwy, but don't worry
	about it.

3.	When you are done, go back to your "Apple" menu and select LaserWriter
(or +). Then select "Print". In the print dialog, there are
several check boxes. Check "Print to Disk". It will also work best if
you check all of the boxes. Click on OK, and you will be able to tell
PI4 where to save the postscript file. That's all there is to it.

Now, the next problem is getting this file to a postscript printer. YOu
will need a utility that can download a postscript file to a printer. I
use FontDownloader. This used to work really slick. Then I ran into
problems as the Macs were upgraded to newer system software. I found out
that making sure to check the "Send Laserprep" box solved that problem.
This then worked fine for 2 more years. But, when I just tried this last
week, it didn't work again. I finally got it to work by making sure I was
using System 6 and sending the file to a LaserWriter or Plus. For some
reason, the LaserWriter IINT and LaserWriter Pro 630 didn't like my files.
The problem seems to be that progress marches on in the Mac world, while
we all know it does not in the Apple II world, especially not 8-bit
Apples. The gulf is widening. This procedure may not work for too many
years more. I just called TimeWorks today. The tech support guy I talked
to was very nice and knowledgable. He said that the 8-bit laserwriter
driver included in PI4 was provided by Apple, but has not been updated
since, and is not likely to be updated by Apple. The only way to upgrade
this would be to rewrite a new driver from scratch, which would most
likely not be cost effective.
