looking for LF/CR Stripper

Hi all:

I am looking for a good shareware or freeware program that will strip
LF and CR from text files on my apple IIE.  I have checked a number
of the FTP sites and have only found one program called textc.

Can't seem to get it to work right sincei there is no docs.  
Could someone please point me in the right direction on this one?

BTW,  how does one get their .sig file to work/configure properly???
