Help with HFS FST

I cannot seem to get my GS to recognize Mac formatted disks.  I only have
an 800K drive on my GS so I formatted an 800K disk on a Mac (HFS format)
and took it to my GS.  I have System 6.0.1 with ROM 01 and I used the
Install disk to install the HFS FST on my system disk (the one I booted
from).  But it still says something about the disk format not recognized
and asks me if I want to eject or initialize.  By the way, I installed
the DOS 3.3 FST and it works just fine.
