preacher has met his maker.

Thank you for your communication involving the January 17 mass posting to the
news groups on the Internet.
 
This response has been delayed due to the large number of messages that we 
have received and due to the fact that Andrews University was closed for two
days due to severe weather conditions.
 
Action has been taken against the individual who sent the messages and proper
Internet etiquette will be emphasized in our ongoing training program for
Internet users.
 
The following is the official statement from Andrews University regarding this
incident.  It has also been posted on the following news groups:
news.admin.misc, news.admin.policy, news.misc, news.newusers.questions.
 
 
This is an official apology for the mass distribution of the "Global Alert"
message sent on January 17, 1994.  Andrews University strongly objects to 
this misuse of the Internet and has taken actions to deter its reoccurrence.
