Re: Laser PC4 portable computer
Larry Dawson asked about the Laser PC4...
At our last RI Apple Users Group meeting one of our members gave us a
demo of the PC4. It does look like a very good way to get an inexpensive
portable Apple laptop. The limitations are that there is no drive - floppy
or hard, and you'er limited to the resident programs and memory (128 K total,
or about 34 K per program module).
The programs are a word processor, address file (data base) and a spread-
sheet. The data is downloadable into IBM, MAC or Apple II with AppleWorks.
I would have to say that if you really need a laptop that runs Apple then you
might do well to invest in the Laser.
We did not get to see any data transfers, but the literature indicates that
the files go directly into AW files without any manipulations.
Hope this info helps.
