IIe HardDisk Problem

hi folks, a friend of mine is having some trouble with his IIe and the
attached hard disk. he asked me to post his msg to c.s.a2 since he has no
access to it. well, his orig. msg follows. if you have any tips or ideas

I'm using a Turbo IDE Card in my IIe connected to a Western Digital HardDisk
(270meg). The bad thing about it is that it can't be used with the AE Parallel
Pro Card. Well, it can but strange things happen, like after launching a pgm,
RESET must be hit to make it run or else the screen blanks out...
My question now is, is there an AE update available to fix this? Or does any-
body know of other parallel cards with printerbuffer, double-hires plot and
screen dump which is supposed to run under above configuration?
