Status of Lutus Software
A few days ago, two different people asked about the status of some of Paul
Lutus' other software. Since I hadn't heard of the programs (MusiComp and
Apple World), I contacted the coordinator of the Lost Classic Project, Tim
Tobin, and following is his response about the status.
To me, it sounds like Tim needs to contact Mr Lutus...

I am unfamiliar with MusiComp, so cannot speak to that. The fact that it is
copyrighted by Apple would lead me to believe that it would be difficult to
get it available again.
I have heard of Apple World, and Paul was in fact involved in its writing.
I do not know its current status. I will ask Paul Lutus about it next time
I talk to him. I am assuming that Vector World is a similar package? Paul
may remember something about it.
Regarding Lutus' software all going freeware: THIS IS NOT TRUE!
Explanation: Paul intends to maintain tight control of his intellectual
property. As such, he has allowed only specific titles to go Freeware. His
restrictions have involved verification of a properly working unprotected
version of it, with no extraneous patches or other claims of enhancement
without his prior approval. He has approved release of his titles on only a
case by case basis. So far this includes Electric Duet, GraFORTH, Apple
Writer II and III. Anything else will require negotiations with Paul to
secure release.
Just because it has Paul's name on it doesn't mean it is available as
Freeware.
I just wanted to make that clear. :)
