Option AV equipment does not mean optional sound. PowerPC macs without
the AV enhancements will definately still have sound capability and it
will likely be through the Apple Sound Chip that produces sound for almost
every mac on the market today. An AV equipped PowerPC would simply have
better sound and more analog I/O capability, both in Audio and Video, thus
AV.
