Elementray school seeks donated IIe/IIc/IIgs

                 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SEEKS DONATED IIC/IIE OR IIGS

My younger son's science teacher at elementary school reported to me that
her school does not have even a single Apple II computer.  This is amazing
because we all presume that schools are a main market for Apple II's.  She
has a Commodore 8-bit computer and also an IBM clone.  Quite a lot of
educational software is available for the Apple II so the school would
benefit from getting an Apple II.

Would anyone out there be interested in donating an Apple IIe,IIc, or IIgs
to the school?  The school is unable to purchase the system (Public schools
in the South are funded very marginally), but the school would pay for the
UPS shipping for the donated equipment.  The school could also provide a
formal letter of thanks for the donated equipment which could help the
donor to deduct the value of the donation from income taxes.

I hope that someone reading this memo will respond.  The children at the
school will become imprinted on IBM computers, lacking any familiarity
with our beloved Apple II's.  Even a single donated Apple II will provide
the kids (Grades 4 and 5; a critical period for computer introductions)
with experience on our "platform."

I am sure that the donor will also be given a follow-up report six months
later on how the computer was put to use in the school.
