As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a floptical from Tulin with a
Apple HS SCSI card. The drivers are available from Tulin written by Tulin and
can be had for $20. This is cheaper than buying a Ramfast:-). The drivers are
available separately.

I have no problem with Adv Disk Util or Icons not showing up on my desktop.

What's even better is that I can write as well read MSDos disks using
MSDos Util under GNO or other shells.
