MS>I just got a look at an early copy of 2qwk 1.01b1. Very fast CNF
creation,
MS>great job Jeff. So fast that the onscreen messages are too fast to
read <g>.
1.01b? Did Tom go backward in numbering? My modes are for 1.09b
What? You want to read the messages???? <g>
Thanks for the comments. I initially wrote the code in MACOS and just
called
the ml routine to determine how many messages where there.... But it
still
too slow (7 minutes for 500 conferences, compared to 17 minutes for
v0.98c's
code), so I spent about a week converting all of it to ML. The text was

displayed only so that there was an indication on the screen so that the
user
knew something was happening (I like the 'xxx -> yyy' display at the
front of
the line so that I can tell how many conferences are left to process. [
xxx =
current conference entry w/i Control.Dat; yyy = number of conferences to
process] ) ......
Since the source code is included, a "delay" loop could easily be
included so
that user can read it (I like the speed myself... I can wait until the
conference screen appears in the "Message" routine to see how many
messages
there was :)
MS>Tom also implemented support for keeping current replies around. It
MS>worked for me when I played around with it.
Oh? It sounds like the next version is gonna be fun to play with.
