- Summary: I love this virus in Appleworks GS
Very Early this morning I had the pleasure of being reminded about a bug/virus
(I dont know which it actually is) in the datbase module of Appleworks GS.
What I had forgotten was that on the 23rd of December of seemingly any year
Appleworks GS will trash your database file if you try to work on it. When
I first found this "gift" from Claris I was eventually able to find out that I
could recreate it at will by simply reseting my system clock to the lovely day
and then start manipulating and saving the file. multiple saves just cascade
the lovely event until the file is totally usless. When I reported this to
Claris they seemed to not care about this great revelation that their product
was a piece of garbage. I have personally talked to one other person that
found the same results that I did independently of information from me so I am
sure that this is/has happened to other people
ps
The actual date may be the 22nd due to the timing of when I started working
last night on the file, but I am pretty sure the file didnt start getting
trashed till after midnight.
pps
any kind soul who wants to forward this post to the apropriate people at
Quality so that maybe they will do something about this feature, I would
apreciate it.
thank you for your time and listening to my raving.
