I have a LaserJet clone hooked to my GS via a Grappler parallel card and 
via the GS serial port (it takes either kind, as does the true LaserJet, 
I believe). I don't know if the Super Serial Card will handle an LJ, 
although I don't see why it wouldn't. What kind of cable are you using?

If you can get your hands on a parallel card you might have better luck. 
There is no reason why it shouldn't work with the IIe; it's just a matter 
of getting the right interface card and cable -- and of course 
configuring your programs to work with it. AppleWorks, with the ability 
to define custom printers, is great for this.
