StyleWare first wrote Multiscribe, then the GS version. After those
had been on the market for a while, they began to advertise GS Works.
Shortly after those ads hit the streets, but before the product was released,
Claris bought out StyleWare, made a few changes to GS Works, and released it
as AppleWorks GS.

AppleWorks GS's word processor is not Multiscribe GS, but it's pretty
similar. I don't have any way to test it, but AWGS would probably read
Multiscribe GS files.

Anyway, to help pay Beagle Bros. for their help on AppleWorks 3.0,
Claris gave Beagle everything else that StyleWare had done, including
MultiScribe, Multiscribe GS, etc. Beagle renamed the Multiscribes to
BeagleWrites, but as far as I know, they didn't change anything.

When Beagle died, they sold all the Apple II stuff to Quality
Computers, who is still publishing most of it, and claims to be working on an
update to BeagleWrite GS to make it System 6-compatible.
