The Apple ][+ can do color without any extra cards.  I agree that it's
probably an 80 column card.

Maybe it's a language card?  The switch was used to switch banks of ROM.  One
way was for the ROM's on the motherboard (Interget BASIC), the other way was
for the ROMs on the Language card (Applesoft BASIC).  But these are REALLY
old!  I've never seen an Apple ][+ that didn't have Applesoft BASIC in ROM.
(Heard of them, yes.  But never SEEN one.)
