Just in case anyone was curious:
I redid my cabling (again). The floptical drive is now connected (in
addition to the hard drive). Everything appears to work fine (1.4 Mac
and IBM disks, 720 IBM disks, 21 meg flopticals). I went ahead and
ordered the newest RAMFast rom anyway.
Formatting a floptical disk takes forever!
Inserting incorrectly formatted disks causes the drive to hang. I
have a lot of high density disks that I formatted at 800k. Now, I
know that the floptical drive can't read 800k disks, but shouldn't it
realize that the disk is formatted improperly, and return an error to
the finder?
Now I have to install (and pay for) the MS-DOS utilities that were
posted recently....
