First of all, "regular" 5 1/2 floppies don't exist. Second, the floptical
"thingamajigs" don't "only hold" 1440K...they can "hold" 21MB; they also
happen to read and write 1.44MB format disks. You would invest in one if
you like to store large amounts of data on a floppy-sized cartridge and/or
want to read and write Mac and IBM disks on your ][. This would take the
place of a Superdrive & card and would double as a nice backup device or
hard drive. Lastly, it has nothing to do with multimedia (as I hope you
can now see) unless someone writes mulitmedia stuff for the ][(gs) that
are a little less than 21MB in size and distributes it on floptical media;
this will most probably never happen.
