As far as I know, all the original IIc's are eligible for the upgrade.
To find out if yours is an original one;
1. Turn on the computer without a disk in the drive.
2. Hit Control-Reset, which will get you a BASIC prompt (]).
3. Type "PRINT PEEK(64447)" without the quotes and hit return.
If you get 255, you have the old original motherboard which does not have
the capability to use 2400 baud modems or UniDisk 3.5's. if you get 0 or
some other single digit number (can't remember them all off the top of my
head) then yours is already updated and not eligible for the upgrade
since it doesn't need it.
