IIgs: Bose Roomate vs AppleDesign speakers

	I've recently been considering the purchase of some decent quality
amplified speakers for my IIgs (these tinny "Koss SA/30" speakers don't do 
justice to the GS, nor do they match being black colored ;), but would like 
some opinions first.

	Bose Roomate seem to be a good choice, but I'm wondering if they're
still available in Apple's platinum color scheme. My brother owns such a
pair (circa 1984-87) that came packaged with his IIgs system, but they're
not magnetically sheilded, nor do they have any off/on switch or adjustable
volume control. They give off incredible sound connected to a GS stereo card,
but unfortunately my brother now has them hooked into his IBM with a
Pro-AudioSpectrum-16 card (a complete waste since it's mono FM-synthesis!).
Yes, I have offered to trade or buy these Bose Roomates he's now wasting,
but he won't listen, forcing me to buy a new pair of my own.
	I do remember, not long ago, inCider/A+ had a short mention of newly
designed Bose Roomate speakers. If I recall correctly, these were magnetically
shielded, had a volume control dial (front in center) and were molded and
color-designed to match the Macintosh or IIgs. If these are still available,
can someone tell me how much they cost new and where I can order a pair?

	The other option now: Just today Apple Canada mailed me another one 
of those why-you-should-buy-a-Macintosh (yeah, right!) phamplets. Flipping
through it I noticed Apple now carries some not bad looking speakers --
The "AppleDesign(tm) Powered Speakers". They're platinum colored with the
Apple rainbow logo, stand tall vertically, have a volume control and balance 
dial, front headphone jack, power-switch, magnetically sheilded, dual-input 
mixer, etc. I'm not sure how these compare with Bose Roomates for sound,
but they seem quite nice. One thing though, none of the local dealers
around will sell them separtely -- only bundled with a Mac. So, can I
order these from Apple USA, and how much do they cost for a pair?

(note: I have a ROM 3 with MDIdeas SuperSonic stereo/digitizer card).

If anyone has any information on these two brands of speakers, or perhaps
even has a pair they'd be willing to sell or trade (for various GS hardware),
send a reply by mail...
