    Bouncing around on the car seat, yes.  Bouncing around in the trunk
of a car, yes.  Dropping it two feet to the floor, ummm... next?  ;-) 
Seriously, I haven't had any problem with mechanical damage to the
drive, and it gets moved around at least once a month (for UG meetings).
But I always stick in the yellow plastic disk to keep the heads from
smashing together.  My hard drives is always bundled up in a T-shirt
though.  :)
