128meg optical drives

My friend owns an 128meg optical drive, and I'd like to back up my hard 
drive on it.  We tried bringing the optical drive to the GS, but the GS 
choked on it (it recognized it's existence, but would not read or write 
to it).  His mac would not touch my drive either... 

Anyone have any ideas on how I could back up my HD?  Be able to archive 
files inidividually would be best, but a volume back up is better than 
nothing.
