Heavy-Duty power supplies may only increase the amount of heat in
the IIGS. How many cards do you have in your IIGS total? I only have
a standard IIGS power supply, Rom 01, Ramfast Rev C, Zip 1.02 9/32,
and a GS-Ram+ with 4MB installed. Despite this, since I'm in a warm
climate (Southern California), my IIGS can get rather hot.
When I've had my IIGS on for many hours, it can get real hot and
start doing the same series of crashes. Fortunately, I have a desk
fan, so the first few times this happened, I opened up my IIGS,
pointed the fan in for a few minutes until the power supply was not too
hot to touch. Since then, I've found that if I have a fan pointing directly
down onto the top of my monitor (I have a bookshelf and a clip-on fan)
keeps the monitor cool, as well as the computer. I think that if the monitor
is cool, then heat can rise up out of the computer as well. Other than
that, get a room air-conditioner...
