If there were, I'd be experiencing it, too.  All my IIGS's are ROM 01's.

This is definitely something isolated to your particular setup.  We just
need to figure out what it is.  If you've restarted with no extensions
(holding Shift while booting), and you're running 6.0 or 6.0.1 I can't
think of a reason why it wouldn't work since the rest of your system
is identical to mine (but with more RAM).  I certainly can't see why
lots of free memory could cause problems.
