It's been done before...a company called SCRG had a switchbox with 4
slots. I think you could only switch cards when the computer was off
and you could only use relatively slow cards (no disk controllers,
etc.), but if you needed more slots, it would do the job. They also
sold an extension cable that would run a slot outside your machine;
you could then plug and unplug cards as needed without opening the
machine. (This, I think, would work with faster cards.)

Hmm, what is this thing worth? It was sort of the thing I was looking for
at one time. My solution of having more cards than slots was to get
another box with 7 slots. And now I've got 2 IIGS's! Well actually the
real reason was that there was a brand new ROM 3 GS available at the time
at a irresistable price, but I digress.
