AW & AWGS >> Mac Programs

I would appreciate learning about any methods that
can be used to transfer Appleworks and Appleworks GS
files from a IIGS to a Mac in such a manner that these
files can be read by Mac programs with formatting
and formulas (for spreadsheets) preserved. Iwould
like to be able to store the AW and AW GS files on
the Mac and access them, as needed.

This is what I know so far:

I don't want to covert all of the word processing files
to text files (10 years of accumulated stuff). Same
goes for DIF conversions.

If the AW or AW GS files are placed on a HFS formatted
disk, only the word processing files seem to be recognized
by Claris Works. MS Works 3.0 will not recognize these
files at all.

If the AW or AW GS files are placed on a Prodos formatted
disk, Apple File Exchange, using Works-to-Works provides
word processing files that MS Works 3.0 can recognize.
Spreadsheet and database files are not recognized.
